Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Government gives incentive to international students 

An Australian Government initiative, The Endeavour Programme, is bringing together under the one umbrella all of the Department of Education, Science and Training’s (DEST) international scholarships.

This amalgamation of programs will enable high achieving students and scholars from around the world to undertake study or research in Australia.

Details about the programme can be found at http://www.dest.gov.au/International/Awards/endeavour.htm. Details about the 2006 round of awards will be posted to the website soon.

Awards include: Endeavour Research Fellowships; Endeavour Asia Awards; Endeavour Europe Awards; Endeavour Cheung Kong Awards; Endeavour International Postgraduate Research Scholarships; Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong Student Exchange Programme; University Mobility in the Asia and Pacific; and Endeavour Language Teacher Fellowships.
