Quality assurance on the agenda

Staff from Rockhampton and all Australian International Campuses gathered to workshop Quality Assurance and Compliance at the CQU Sydney International Campus.

The workshop kicked off with gusto when Professor Ken Hawkins addressed the group. Sometimes serious, sometimes humorous, Ken stressed the importance of quality assurance and compliance and the effect it had on the delivery of educational services to international students. To emphasise his points, Professor Hawkins had the group tying themselves in knots (literally), falling into each other’s arms and generally spinning around like tops.

PhotoID:301 After their somewhat dizzying opening, it was onto further serious discussion. Topics addressed covered such areas as CQU Rockhampton/AIC interface, customer satisfaction and ESOS compliance.

Customer satisfaction was an issue that drew many ideas from the group and a commitment was made to go forward and develop ways in which we could collect and analyse data provided by students. It was agreed that in order for the University and Campus Management Services to go forward we needed to collate and act upon feedback obtained by customers.

After two days of intense consultation, participants departed the Sydney International Campus, confident that all parties had a clear commitment of continuous improvement to quality assurance systems ensuring that all CQU students receive the best service and product possible.
