Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Townsville walks away with challenge, but all winners 

Townsville has beaten Rockhampton in the City of Origin 10,000 Steps challenge, but organisers point out that all participants are winners on the better health front.

PhotoID:3431 In the crucial battle for the best average steps per head of population, Townsville recorded 2388 against Rockhampton's 2075.

The City of Origin was an initiative of the Physical Activity Capricorn Taskforce, which is now challenging people to make physical activity a part of their daily life.
