Representatives from the Queensland Government Trade and Investment Office recently visited CQU Rockhampton to inspect the facilities and gain an insight into the operation of the Centre for Railway Engineering.
The visit not only educated the government representatives on the current activities carried out at the CRE, but developed a strong connection for future research and development initiatives with the Trade and Investment Offices, both in Australia and overseas.
“The Trade and Investment Office were interested in gaining a further understanding of the capabilities of the CRE which is a strong step towards establishing future joint rail research programmes with the assistance of this partner,” CRE Director, Associate Professor Manicka Dhanasekar said.
Among the representatives was the European Agent General and Commissioner, Mr John Dawson.
Mr Dawson, who was visiting from London, showed particular interest in the possibility of introducing technologies produced by the CRE into the European market.
The Queensland Government’s Trade and Investment Offices coordinate activities to promote Queensland’s exports, enhance trade and attract investment and intellectual capital to Queensland.
