Visitor helps boost 'cyber network' prospects

Central Queensland regional communities could develop their advanced computing credentials. That is thanks to a visit to Rockhampton this week (July 18-19) by Queensland Cyber Infrastructure Foundation (QCIF) CEO Professor Bernard Pailthorpe.

Professor Pailthorpe discussed how advanced (super) computing networks - including those recently upgraded at CQU - can boost regional competitiveness and add value to research and teaching in the CQ region.

The Queensland Cyber Infrastructure Foundation (QCIF) is a consortium of Queensland universities formed with the objective to increase the State's innovative capacity through deployment and exploitation of advanced computing and communications infrastructure - supercomputers, high-capacity data archives, visualisation and networking capability.
