South-eastern WIST students form study group

Women into Science and Technology (WIST) students living in South East Queensland have recently formed a study support group.

At a recent workshop held for WIST students in Pomona, WIST students decided to continue to meet as a way of providing additional support to each other.

PhotoID:3309 For their initial study group meeting, Antony Dekkers from CQU's Mathematics Learning Centre provided them with a maths video tutorial.

One of the attendees at the study group, Tina Marie Eccles reported that the group found the video most beneficial for understanding the principles of maths, and said: “I would highly recommend this video to anyone who struggles with maths".

Tina and the other students who attended, reported that they now have more confidence in being able to complete the maths modules.

WIST students who would like to be informed of the date for the next WIST Sunshine Coast study group meeting, or who would like a similar workshop in their own area, can email wist@cqu.edu.au .
