Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

CQU Sydney proud of new postgrad library 

CQU Sydney International Campus marked the first day of the new term with the official opening of its brand-new, state-of-the-art library this month.

The library provides spacious facilities for more than 3000 postgraduate students and offers 4000 books as well as 5 private study rooms.

PhotoID:2974 Among the bookshelves are a bountiful supply of couches and desks to encourage scholarly pursuit in comfort as well as 48 computer workstations. The library is also a full-service e-library offering students access to 70 databases.

The library is a centrepiece of the Sydney International Campus’ new postgraduate facility with SIC Campus Director, Barbara Abou-Lehaf noting “the library is the heart of any academic community so it is only fitting that we provide our students with a state-of-the-art library to match what is a truly impressive new postgraduate campus”.

The postgraduate library is located on Level 3 of the SIC Postgraduate Campus at 400 Kent Street and is open 9.30am to 8pm Monday-Thursday, 9.30am to 6pm Friday and 11am to 3pm Saturday.
