ABC presenter to broadcast live from the Fair

Much of the colour and excitement of next Sunday’s Central Queensland Multicultural Fair and CQU Open Day will be transmitted to a statewide audience when ABC presenter David Anderson hosts a special broadcast from the event between 10am and Noon.

PhotoID:992 ABC Capricornia has been a joint presenter of the Fair since its inception in 1993 and Sunday’s broadcast is part of the ABC’s contribution to the event.

David is a seasoned broadcaster who has mounted similar broadcasts from most of the previous Fairs.

David said that he was looking forward to the Fair and it’s exotic flavour.

“It’s a real opportunity to see the world in a day without having to leave Rockhampton to do it,” Mr Anderson said.

“I just love the tastes and the smells of food from all over the world, as well as the colourful sights of the performers in their national costumes.

“It’s also a great family day with a non commercial flavour and really adds something to our way of life in Central Queensland.

David is also passionate about the importance of the Fair in building a more tolerant and harmonious community.

“Frankly if every city emulated what we’ve been able to do in Central Queensland, the world would be a much better place than it is now.

David added that ABC Capricornia and CQU were perfect partners to stage such an event as both organisations shared similar corporate goals when it came to multiculturalism.

Look out for your CQ Multicultural Fair and CQU Open Day program inserted in this Friday’s The Morning Bulletin and Central Queensland News and in Thursday’s Central Telegraph.
