Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Mackay Musicians Support Rockhampton Concert 

Rockhampton Concert Orchestra will receive an influx of Mackay-based musicians from the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music to perform with international concert pianist, Ali Wood, this Saturday night (April 13).

The musicians, the majority of whom are full-time students at the Conservatorium, are extremely excited about performing with such an acclaimed artist, as well as the grand opportunity of playing the most well-known of all piano concertos.

Rockhampton Concert Orchestra and Brisbane Concert Pianist, Ali Wood, will perform ALL FAMOUS STUFF next Saturday 13th April at the Pilbeam Theatre.

The famous concertos of Grieg, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue" and Mozart's "Elvira Madigan" will be performed. Also performing at the concert will be vocalist Dimitri Kopanakis, who will join with Ali Wood to sing some of his favourite songs.
