Preparations have begun for Central Queensland's most popular family day out, the CQU Multicultural Fair and Open Day, to be held on Sunday August 12.

CQU Events Coordinator Gina Yarrow said the search has begun for bands, performers, stage managers, volunteers, multicultural participants, and arts and craft stall holders for the event.

"The fair and open day attract thousands of visitors every year and are loved for their multicultural music, food, entertainment and arts and craft," Mrs Yarrow said.

"It is also an opportunity for CQU to open its doors to the community for them to see what happens on campus and what programs students can study here."

University schools are encouraged to hold interactive and/or static displays to help showcase their area of study. For more information or advice about displays, contact your faculty marketing officer.

If you have something to contribute to this year's event, please contact Gina Yarrow on 4923 2736 or email g.yarrow@cqu.edu.au . Registrations close June 15.
