Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Postgrad students encouraged to nominate for award 

Nominations have been invited by the Water Forum CRCs for the Young Water Scientist of the Year Award.

Postgraduate research students who will complete a CRC supported degree in 2002 can nominate to prepare a water-related presentation.

CQU is a member university of the CRC for Coastal Zone, Estuary and Waterway Management. Other CRCs in the Water Forum include, Catchment Hydrology, Freshwater Ecology, Waste Management and Pollution Control and Water Quality and Treatment.

The five finalists in the 2003 Award will speak during the OzWater 2003 “Innovations in Water” Conference in Perth from 6 to 10 April.
