CQU Library Society buried in books for sale

Central Queensland University (CQU) Library Society members have been working extra hard to get donated books from all walks of life ready to be sold at the annual second hand book sale.

The mammoth sale will be held at the Refectory at the CQU Mackay campus on Sunday August 27, 9.30 am – 2.30pm, and Monday August 28, 9am – 2pm.

PhotoID:3204 Fiction, non fiction, children’s books, text books, CDs, records and magazines all in quite good condition will all be up for grabs for very second hand prices.

Library Society members pictured sorting through the donated books are Robyn McWhinney and Clare Davis.

Both agree the quality and quantity of books this year has increased noticeably.

“The condition and range of the books this year is better than last year. There are lots of children’s books and a variety of books that we didn’t receive last year and all in very reasonable condition,” said Robyn.

CQU Mackay Library Manager, Pauline McNee is anticipating a busy sale.

“People will have to get in early; last year we had a queue waiting for us to open our doors,” said Pauline.

Last year's book sale raised over $3000 and it’s anticipated that this year will be just as successful.

Donations this year have come from the public and from the CQU library.

Interested in cleaning out some of your old books that are just gathering dust? Why not donate them by simply dropping them into the library before the sale.
