'Con Off Site' concert is on again

Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music (CQCM) and Artspace Mackay presented their penultimate concert this Thursday October 6.

‘CON OFF SITE 2005’ is a free series of lunchtime concerts and performances by CQCM staff and students, and is yet another example of a successful industry partnership for the CQCM; this time with Artspace Mackay.

According to Judith Brown, sub-dean of the CQCM, “Artspace Mackay is a fabulous light and airy venue for live performance, with surprisingly good acoustics".

“Artspace Mackay is ideally situated within walking distance for office workers, and what better way to enjoy a lunch break, than with a relaxing performance by our talented students,” said Judith.

This Thursday’s free lunchtime concert at Artspace Mackay featured CQCM vocal ensembles Siennah and Salubrious and guitarist John Mogg.

Also performing were contemporary singers from the Bachelor of Music program. These included local star Vanessa Worthington, whose brother Ben was a finalist on Australia Idol 2005.
