CQU's Professor Kerry Mummery has gained funding to collaborate with an Auckland colleague in order to research the determinants of physical activity in the New Zealand and Australian populations.
The CQU Rockhampton academic, who helped spread the 10 000 Steps Project throughout Australia, has gained the funding from the Royal Society of New Zealand through its International Science and Technology Linkages Fund.
Professor Mummery said the funding from 2005-2007 would support his travel, accommodation and research activities in New Zealand.
It would also provide reciprocal travel, accommodation and research support for NZ's Professor Greg Kolt, who is the the Associate Dean of Research in the Faculty of Health at Auckland University of Technology.
