Calling on 'WIST-full' women

Many thousands of women throughout Australia have progressed in their study and careers thanks to a stepping stone known as WIST...

Women Into Science and Technology (WIST) is a home-based, self-paced bridging course in English, Science, Mathematics and Computing especially designed and programmed for women. It is offered by CQUniversity.

Current coordinator Nell Salem has realised that next month (June, 2009) will be the 20th anniversary of the period when the first few dozen students were enrolled*.

She is keen to hear from some of the program pioneers, as well as more recent graduates, and would welcome photos, anecdotes and career updates for an online presentation about WIST.

Former WIST students are encouraged to get in touch with Nell and contribute to the presentation via wist@cqu.edu.au .

*The original students were enrolled at the then Capricornia Institute of Advanced Education, which has progressed to become CQUniversity Australia.
