CQU welcomes Review report on Melbourne Campus

Central Queensland University welcomes the report from a Victorian Ministerial Review into its Melbourne International Campus, to be released tomorrow (Friday).

CQU Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Angela Delves said the report showed that "CQU had been cleared of serious misconduct, there was no evidence of non-compliance with the ESOS National Code and the University had made demonstrable improvements in supporting students".

The report also referred to evidence that CQU's academic and student support services and facilities were comparable to those of other University campuses.

Professor Delves said that the University was already involved in continuous improvement across all the specific areas the report identifies as needing attention with particular emphasis on Faculty assessment processes and communication with students.

"We are already working on specifics from the report because we agree with the Brumby Government that all universities operating in Victoria need to conform to high standards and treat students in a compassionate and ethical manner," she said.

"We stand by our commitment to uphold academic standards while providing comprehensive support for all of our students".
