CQUniversity's national role in campus staff development
Published on 16 July, 2008
CQUniversity Australia is among 8 institutions collaborating to deliver a shared professional development program for tertiary educators.
The new nationally-available Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Education (GCTE) enables delivery of quality benchmarked teaching development programs.
Each of the partner universities will offer an elective unit. CQUniversity's elective is in the area of Education Technology.
According to its promotional brochure, the national GCTE promises:
- sustainable deliery;
- avoidance of duplicated effort;
- agreement on core elements; and
- drawing on expertise from a wider community.
Successful graduates can expect to boost their understanding of the theories and practices of tertiary teaching through a deeper understanding of how students learn. They will also develop a community of practice.
