Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Winning words to claim $1700 

CQU’s School of Contemporary Communication will again host the 2003 Bauhinia Literary Awards.

A total prize pool of $1700 will be awarded for Short Stories and Poetry in open, regional and student categories. Closing date for entries is Monday 30 June.

Winners will be announced at the CQ Multicultural Fair & CQU Open Day on Sunday August 17.

Winning entries will be published in the Idiom 23 Literary Magazine, Volume 16.

Awards administrator Leonie Healey said this was the 11th year the awards have operated and she expected the competition to be very strong.
