Published on 09 May, 2008
Free workshops on commercialisation and intellectual property are scheduled for researchers, growers, industry associations and others involved in horticulture industries.
CQU Rockhampton (building 32/G.18) will host the Australian Centre for Intellectual Property in Agriculture (ACIPA) workshops throughout the day on Tuesday June 3.
The day--time workshops will be followed by an evening social session on the benefits of membership of the Australian Institute for Agricultural Science and Technology (Queensland branch).
Workshop 1 (morning) will cover recent developments in intellectual property, particularly in the area of plant breeder's rights which are having more and more impact on the horticulture industry.
Workshop 2 (afternoon) is designed to help researchers manage their intellectual property to maximise commercial outcomes. This session will include case studies based on CQU Centre for Plant and Water Science projects.
The event will include presentations by CQU Plant and Water Science staff Ben Kele, Dr Kerry Walsh and Noel Sammon and a Faculty of Business & Informatics staff member.
