Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Postgraduate coursework students meet over lunch

Last Thursday a luncheon took place to welcome International postgraduate coursework students.

PhotoID:2418 More than 20 students attended the event in the relaxed setting of the courtyard in Building 32, as well as staff from Infocom, International and Student services.

The event was a good opportunity for students to meet and discuss issues and concerns.

Greg Whymark announced details of the courses that will run face-to-face on Rockhampton Campus in Term 3, which was well received by the students, and he was also able to discuss other issues such as assignment due dates
