Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Foundation Dean of InfoCom farewelled 

Foundation Dean of Informatics and Communication Professor Stewart Marshall was farewelled during a function in the Chancellery gardens recently.

PhotoID:1172 Professor Marshall was integral to the success of the diverse Faculty grouping and presided over rapid growth in international student enrolments.

Closer to home, he worked alongside Rockhampton City Council and community leaders to establish Community Informatics via the COIN centre in the former Commonwealth Building.

Professor Marshall also worked hard to establish CQU as a conference host in the area of informatics.
