Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

University recognises Olympic champion as ambassador

CQU Vice-Chancellor Professor John Rickard has welcomed Olympic champion cyclist Anna Meares as an ambassador for the University.

PhotoID:2123 Speaking to the crowd assembled at this week's (Thursday) Relay for Life Clip for Cancer at the Rockhampton Campus Commercial Courtyard, Professor Rickard said the University would find ways to support Anna's sporting endeavours.

In return, Anna has agreed to be involved in relevant University initiatives.
