Students 'flex' their choice of study locations

CQU Mackay is adapting to a trend for local students wanting to study off campus to suit their career and lifestyles, while still having access to support.
One example is a recent (Wednesday March 19) visit to Mackay by Rockhampton-based history lecturer Dr Barbara Webster.

Dr Webster met with local ‘flex' students and also students from local high schools enrolled via the SUN (Start Uni Now) program.
She was able to offer a friendly face, a listening ear and some tips for success to motivate the students.
Another academic, journalism lecturer David Anderson will also visit Mackay to assist supported flex students.
CQU is proud of its history of leadership as a distance education, on-line and flexible studies provider.
It was among a handful of designated distance education providers in the 1980s and pioneered many support services for off-campus students.
