Sydney raises funds with Red Nose fun
Published on 18 July, 2007
Whether it was wearable or edible, it was all red at CQU Sydney International Campus in a bid to raise funds and awareness towards Red Nose Day recently.
This initiative is the major fundraiser for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) that has been in action since 1988.
The Red Nose Day idea was embraced by SIDS and Kids organisations around Australia whose main objective was to raise consciousness about sudden and unexpected demise of infants under one year of age during their sleep. The awareness has taken the shape of a red nose, a concept based on the notion that a red nose always brings a smile to people's faces.
In a concept which proved to be successful, staff paraded in their red attire ranging from ties, shirts, hats, scarves and accessories whilst indulging in a variety of savouries, sweets and biscuits (all red of course).
Many thanks to all those who participated and helped out in the organisation and presentation of Red Nose Day, and a special thank you to all those who made a contribution to the initiative. CQU Sydney International Campus staff raised $115 which will be donated to SIDS.
