Virtual Conservatorium student Evette Clague has collaborated on music for this Friday's (6pm) ABC TV documentary called 'Sisters in the Black Movement'.
'Sisters in the Black Movement' profiles the women who were a part of the movement leading up the 1967 referendum on Aboriginal rights.
Ms Clague, who lives and studies in northern NSW, is the daughter of one of the women quoted in the documentary and the sister of the producer.
She collaborated with her music teacher Greg Schubert to write and perform a funky arrangement of the Garry Shearston song 'We Are Going' (the song that became the theme song of the campaign). The song is played over the credits.
Virtual Conservatorium manager Ian Bofinger said Ms Clague’s involvement in university studies represented the diversity of students studying music as the result of innovative teaching practices.
The Virtual Conservatorium is operated by the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music, based at Central Queensland University Mackay.
