Nursing staff awarded for being 'Super Strutters'

A team of nursing staff members (and 2 husbands) have recently won the Capricornia Division of GPs - Six Month Lifestyle Challenge (Steps Challenge).

PhotoID:3531 The 'Super Strutters' team comprising Nursing & Health Studies staff members Sarah Ellis (team captain), Meg Wilson and Jackie Ryan, plus 2 husbands of staff, Stuart Plant and Patrick Wilson, won the 6-month challenge from an extensive line-up of other teams, including another CQU Nursing team which came a close second.

The challenge was linked to the 10,000 Steps program - with staff and family improving fitness levels by increasing exercise over the 6-month period.

Weight and blood pressure measures were taken monthly by the staff from the Division of GPs.

The winning team (5 people) were walking on average 80,000 steps per week.
