Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

New VC to open Major Projects Forum

CQUniversity and Rockhampton Regional Development Limited (RRDL) are hosting a Major Projects Forum - Defining the Future, providing an update on the future of Central Queensland's major projects.

This event will be held from 5.30pm to 7.30pm on Wednesday August 5 at CQUniversity Rockhampton Campus (Building 32/1.28), with entry costing $15.

Guest speakers include our new Vice-Chancellor Professor Scott Bowman, who will provide an opening address.

Other presentations will come from RRDL Industrial Projects Coordinator Eddo Roggeveen, Waratah Coal CEO  Peter Lynch and Santos Gladstone LNG Project's David Allen.

Participants can hear about the latest developments with Waratah Coal's China First Project and Santos' LNG Project and what these mean for business.

This event also provides an opportunity to meet and network with members of industry and the business community. Hot food and drinks will be provided.
