CQU was a silver sponsor for the second annual 'Big Wrap for Nurses' - the Sunshine Coast event (on May 4), which kicked off a week of celebrations for International Nurses' Day.

University nursing staff and student representatives, nursing recruitment agency RNS and the Noosa Hospital staff were among those involved in the big event.

The Noosa Hub nursing team once again supported the Regional Nursing Solutions event, donating the trophy for the Golden Bed Pan bed race segment and entering a team for the race.

Last year, organisers wrapped the Big Pineapple head to toe in giant bandages. This year, they encouraged people to come to the Ettamogah Pub.

The 'Big Wrap for Nurses' is about just that; giving nurses and healthcare professionals the recognition they deserve.

It's a day of celebrations to focus the spotlight on this worthy profession and treat our nurses to some good fun.

Aussie World played host to the official opening, with guest speaker Loree Rudd.

The Aussie World car park was converted to a race track for hospital beds, where teams competed to win $1000 prize money donated by RACQ and The Golden Bed Pan Trophy donated by Central Queensland University. Ramsay Healthcare held the trophy for another year, although the CQU Pooper Scoopers made it to the quarter final stage.

In the evening, there was a buffet dinner for the industry to mingle and get involved in the Outback Nursing theme.
