Some facts about the show:

 - Recently, Fawlty Towers was voted the most popular British TV show ever!

 - There are only 12 episodes and the show uses many of the famous skits to good effect.

 - 'Basil' is based on a real hotel manager in Torquay - supposedly the rudest man Cleese had ever met.

The show, The Fawlty Towers Dining Experience, is a 2-hour dinner show based on the antics of hotelier Basil Fawlty, his bumbling waiter Manuel, and his controlling wife, Sybil.

This production has toured all over the world, recently performing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival - the biggest independent theatre festival in the world.

In 2010, the show is touring to the Netherlands for 4 months, as well as a number of tours throughout Great Britain and Europe.

The company also performs all over Australia and at festivals including the Adelaide Fringe Festival and the Melbourne Comedy Festival.

"This is why it is such a great opportunity for me," Jordan said

"My goal has always been to travel the world as a professional actor... and it seems following in the footsteps of John Cleese may be the ticket to acheiving that dream."

"I auditioned for the role in December.  I only had a week to prepare for the audition, but with the help of computer technology I managed to piece together a great collection of video and sound clips of Basil, which I used extensively as a rehearsal tool.

"I turned up the the audition in full character and costume and threw caution to the wind.  Much of the audition was improvisational and having studied Improv Comedy in the United States I was well equipped.

"They really liked my performance and invited me through to the second round. I attended a 2-day production workshop for the Fawlty Towers show, working with other professional actors and trainers in voice and character development, movement and stage combat. It was an intensive 2 days, but was filled with al ot of laughs.

"And so, a couple of days later the phone rang with the offer.  I was in shock. My first professional acting role with a professional theatre company, reprising the role of none-other-than the most famous, enigmatic British comedian of all time!

"John Cleese has an amazing vocal range as well as a unique physicality.  I am looking forward to analysing every word and movement over the next few months leading up to my debut in March at the Bungunyah Manor Resort on the Gold Coast, I believe it has already sold out!"

Jordan says he is very much like Basil Fawlty in real life.

"My girlfriend tells me I am easily frustrated, openly obnoxious at times and have a tendency to over-exaggerate... but always with a smile.  I also have what I affectionately call 'dufus-days', whereby I wake up with a tendency to bang my head, run into things and accidently hurt people.

"There are not many roles out there for actors as tall as me.  At most auditions I get the classic remark 'WOW, you're tall aren't you', which can be translated as this guy will never get the part! The Basil Fawlty character is probably the only role that gives me an advantage; being thin, lanky and over-animated ... I couldn't find a more perfect fit if I tried!"

Jordan has been invited into the 2010 cast and will be performing in their South-East Queensland team.

"This is an amazing opportunity for me; a chance to put all of my skills from the Conservatorium to good use.  I am excited about the possibilities of this role, having loved Fawlty Towers and Monty Python as a child.

"John Cleese has put so much energy and vigour into this role and I will be working hard to capture every nuance of his performance.

"In saying this ... I have also enrolled in a 3-week Clowning Intensive with internationally renowned circus director Ira Seidenstein in Brisbane in January which will give me the skills and knowledge in physical comedy to give legitimacy to the character."
