Over 500 CQU Mackay first-year students set to begin studies

Just over 500 prospective Central Queensland University Mackay students have been offered a chance to begin tertiary studies in 2004.
The number of offers is similar to those made in 2003, with the university’s five faculties receiving interest from local, interstate and international students.
CQU Mackay Head of Campus, Associate Professor Phillip Clift said the continued popularity of studying in Mackay would mean most students would complete their studies locally.
“For the past few years we’ve attracted a similar number of students which means our campus student numbers have grown and have subsequently allowed full degree programs to be offered in Mackay,” he said.
“Education, Environmental Science and a number of Business programs have been very popular this year.”.
First-year CQU Mackay students begin Orientation Week activities from March 2-5, with the remaining students returning to studies the following week.
