Rocky and Bundy teams in national chemistry comp

Two teams from Rockhampton Grammar School and two from North Bundaberg State High School each visited their local CQUniversity campus this week (Thursday, Oct 16) to compete in the national finals of the Australian National Chemical Analysis Competition.

These teams earned their place in the national finals by gaining a top-four finish in the CQ Regional Titration Competition earlier this year.

The National Chemical Analysis Final Competition involves the analysis of an impure sample of potassium hydrogen phthalate.

One of the students from Bundaberg North SHS (Harriet Pickering) earned a gold medallion for getting a very small deviation from the correct result. All other students received silver medallions.
