Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Millions of ears tuned in to Mackay jazz 

Millions of radio listeners throughout Queensland have been primed by on-air promotions ahead of this month's Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music Statewide jazz tour in association with ABC Local Radio.

PhotoID:3012 The Mackay-based musicians and their VIP guest stars will also be heard during a live Statewide ABC Radio broadcast on the evening of June 15 (from the Gladstone leg of the tour).

The 10-day tour includes 8 venues from Hamilton Island in the north to the Gold Coast.

The concerts presented by ABC Local Radio and Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music (part of CQU) will be at Hamilton Island (Saturday, June 10, 'Masters of Fare' expo at entrance to the Island's main pool, noon); Mackay (Sunday, June 11, Entertainment Centre, 3pm); Emerald (Tuesday, June 13, Emerald Town Hall, 7.30pm); Rockhampton (Wednesday, June 14, Baptist Tabernacle, 7.30pm); Gladstone (Thursday, June 15, Entertainment Centre, 7.30pm); Bundaberg (Friday, June 16, Moncrieff Theatre, 7.30pm); Noosa (Saturday, June 17, Lion’s Park Noosaville, 1.30pm) and Gold Coast (Sunday, June 18, Sails Stage at Broadbeach mall, 2pm).
