Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

National Profile for Virtual Conservatorium 

Telstra has helped promote the Virtual Conservatorium initiative of Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music through a national media campaign.

PhotoID:421 The 'Next Big Thing' campaign featured a young violinist with family connections to CQCM.

So far, the campaign has run as full page spreads in the mass circulation Women's Weekly and Woman's Day magazines and the newspaper inserts Good Weekend and Sunday Magazine.

Other highlights have included spreads in the Sydney Morning Herald, Melbourne Age and Brisbane Courier Mail, along with coverage in more than a dozen other daily newspapers throughout Australia.
