Psych students ghost in to showcase body of work

Rockhampton people will be encouraged to leave audio, video or written feedback for Psychology students who are showcasing research about public health concerns.

That's because most of the presenters don't live locally and will be contributing to the free ‘infotainment' event using posters, voice files  and computer displays.

Organiser Dr Markus Themessl-Huber said visitors would gain insight into many topics, including postnatal depression, self-harm, sleeplessness, obesity, diabetes, anorexia, coping with stress, anxiety, teenage drinking and problem gambling.

"Visitors to the event can explore the broad remit of psychology and psychologists in public health," he said.

The event will be presented from 5:30pm-7:30pm on Thursday, November 13 at the Capricornia College Senior Common Room on Rockhampton Campus.

It has been arranged by CQUniversity's Department of Behavioural and Social Sciences in conjunction with Healthy Communities and the PLEs@CQUni (Personal Learning Environments) project.

Finger foods and light refreshments will be provided. To help with catering, please RSVP to Dr Markus Themessl-Huber (m.themessl-huber@cqu.edu.au or 4930 9105) by November 6.
