Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Graduations held in Hong Kong, Singapore 

A total of 162 graduates attended CQU graduation ceremonies in Singapore and Hong Kong this week.

Sixty graduates from China and Hong Kong attended the ceremony at the Royal Plaza Hotel in Kowloon. The guest speaker was Australian Deputy Consul General for Hong Kong John Pilbeam.

A total of 102 attended the ceremony at The Oriental Singapore to hear from guest speaker Philip Forrest, the president of the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Singapore.

Most of the graduates came from the faculties of Business & Law and Informatics & Computing but the Singapore ceremony also included some representation from Arts, Health & Sciences, Education & Creative Arts, and Engineering & Physical Systems.
