Consumers choose CQU communication degrees

Students can make a late enrolment for CQU’s top-rating Communications programs.

The 2005 Good Universities Guide rated CQU Communications programs as the best in Queensland; better than average in teaching quality, overall satisfaction, success in getting a job and perhaps most importantly, in starting salaries for graduates.

Meanwhile, the CQU programs were more accessible and had among the lowest fees in Australia.

The Communications courses are offered in Rockhampton, Gladstone, Bundaberg, Mackay and by external studies.

In a bid to help students get into next year’s courses, CQU has arranged to refund late enrolment fees.

“This is value for money education,” Journalism and Media Studies Professor Alan Knight said today.

“Students can still get into programs rated as among the very best in Australia, better than some of the most prestigious southern universities.

“Our courses are better because we know our industry,” he said.

CQU offers degree programs in Communications and ejournalism; which are available on-campus or on-line.

According to the Guide, the fees for CQU Communications programs were a little more than half of those demanded by similar programs offered by a Melbourne university.

Professor Knight said CQU journalism academics had worked closely with regional journalists so that programs were credible and students were highly employable. Details are available via 1300 360 444.
