CQU Mackay’s Bachelor of Learning Management (Early Childhood) students ventured out into the community to present activities for young children and their parents to celebrate Under 8s week.
Thirty-two students presented themes of 'Leap Into Life - Children's Health and Well Being'.
There were events such as puppet shows, yoga, tai chi, healthy food preparation, art activities and games including slosh-ball and sack races.
“This type of program gives our Early Childhood students experience not only in the community but also it helps them with their learning as they acquire the knowledge and skills needed for delivering services to children in a fun learning environment,” CQU Mackay lecturer Beverley Murphy said.
The students were welcomed at locations in and around Mackay - the city, Gordon White and Mirani libraries, Sarina Body Centre and PCYC After School Care Program.
The CQU Mackay students provided interactive educational activities for the children as well as informative posters and brochures for their parents.
