Fiji's quiet achiever

There is one amongst our staff at Fiji International Campus who is that passionate about her work that one can safely label her as a workaholic. Despite her seemingly hectic work schedule she has time for other recreational activities which has only coming to light recently.
Last November Raijeli entered a beginner’s flower show organised by the Ministry of Tourism at the Holiday Inn in Suva. Her theme for her flower display was “Na Vale ni Kuro Makawa nei Bu” meaning “my grandmother’s antique kitchen” in which she used pre-colonial pottery to complement her floral display. Raijeli then decided to relocate her winning display to the campus (although on a smaller scale) so that the blend of international staff and students could enjoy and learn a little of Fiji’s history albeit her tasteful display.
Raijeli has recently won two catergories in her area’s annual women’s competition in the Traditional Wedding Wear and Chjabba wear. She enjoys working with flowers, traditional art and design and it is a wonder she has not opened up a shop yet.
The Fiji International Campus is the lucky recipient of Raijeli’s floral art and traditional dicor. She does an excellent job at decorating graduation venues and other similar functions.
Raijeli has downplayed her successes saying that she is no different from anybody else. According to her, everybody has some sort of talent – for some it takes a while to realise it.
