Gen of all trades fosters talent of CQU students
Published on 26 September, 2006
Genevieve Hegney is a jack of all trades and master of many within the Australian performance industry.
So she's been a good role model as a visiting industry mentor for CQU Rockhampton's performing arts students in September.
Her recent credits range from a detective on the 'All Saints' TV program, to a wife on 'The Alice' telemovie, to the part of Olivia in Bell Shakespere Company's production of 'Twelth Night', to a regular character in the BBC TV production of 'Out There', to a lead in several Australian productions of David Williamson' play 'Influence', and to a character voice on the computer roleplay game 'Warlords: Battlecry'.
It's the sort of career pathway that will help the Bachelor of Performing Arts students map their own futures in the industry.
Ms Hegney said she was impressed with the standard of final-year drama students that she worked with during her visit to CQU.
