Library becomes open book for WIST students

WIST students were recently introduced to the services available at the CQU library at a recent workshop.

Students from Rockhampton, Yeppoon and Gladstone attended the information literacy session which gave the WIST students skills in accessing information for their assignment writing.

PhotoID:2868 Jo Keleher, Reference Librarian delivered the 2-hour workshop which helped demystify the process of searching for references for assignment writing.

One of the attendees at the workshop Anne Vander Hoeven said: “The skills I learnt at the workshop will help me to search more efficiently for relevant information for my assignments. In fact, I can use the searching skills in other situations as well”.

WIST students also used the opportunity to meet CQU staff, course advisors and other past WIST students who have gone on to further study and employment.

A current WIST student, Claudia Koska said she has found CQU course advisors and other staff to be very helpful – and this has influenced her decision to choose CQU as her preferred university.
