Indian association thanks Uni as more than 600 enjoy Diwali Night

The Indian Association of Central Queensland has expressed thanks for CQUniversity sponsorship which helped make its annual Diwali Night a success.
Association president Dhamodharan Raman said the celebration included a range of nationalities, representing India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Malaysia, Bangladesh, South Africa, Peru, Philippines, Colombia, Burma, Australia, Fiji, New Zealand, Mauritius, Afghanistan, Singapore, England, China, USA and Iran.

Cr Stephen Schwarten launched the event by lighting the 'Diyas' (oil lamps) and more than 30 cultural displays were performed during the evening, including Indian classical and bollywood music, yoga and folk dances.
CQUniversity is pleased to support the IACQ, because of the close connection we have with the Indian community through our staff, students and our graduates.
