CQUniversity has reinvigorated its theatre and music programs, moving to establish centres of excellence in Mackay and Rockhampton.
From 2009, the Bachelor of Music (Specialisation) and its associated jazz and contemporary music program will be based in the creative arts precinct at CQUniversity Rockhampton.

Residents of the Central Highlands Regional Council (CHRC) area will be asked to share their opinions on issues affecting their community into the future when CQUniversity conducts a telephone survey targeting randomly-selected households during late November.
CHRC Mayor Peter Maguire said the survey was important.
