Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Adult learning peak body visits, calls for 'reassessment'

The president of Australia's peak adult learning body, Professor Barry Golding has visited Rockhampton for a forum calling for a reassessment of adult education in Australia.

CQUniversity hosted the forum at its Ron Smyth Building in Quay Street.

  • Campus sausage sizzle a Relay for Life fundraiser

    A sausage sizzle will be held on the grassed area between the library and building 34 on Rockhampton Campus on Wednesday, March 17, from 11am-2pm.

    The event is a fundraiser for the Education and Creative Arts-based Charity's Angels team, with proceeds going towards Relay for Life (the Queensland Cancer Fund event due to be held at CQU Rockhampton on May 15-16).

    Students enrolled at Central Queensland University’s (CQU) Fiji International Campus have, this week, moved into new facilities located at 3rd Floor, 1 Ratu Dovi Road, Vinod Patel Plaza, Centrepoint, Laucala Beach Estate, Nasinu.

    This move has occurred because the site CQU has occupied since 1998 was sold last year by TELECOM Fiji to the University of the South Pacific (USP), which requires vacant possession by April 1, 2004.
