Twenty teams and about 60 participants got involved in the 6th annual CQ Junior Robotics Competition, held at Rockhampton's DPI Conference Centre recently (June 13).

The competition caters for primary and high school competitors in the robot soccer, robot dance and robot rescue categories.

With her son competing in the Beijing Olympics in just over a month, Rockhampton real estate agent Barbara Knowles thought it timely to familiarise herself with the Chinese language.

She enrolled herself in the CQUniversity course Getting Started in Chinese Language, offered through the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Education.

Councillor Lew Brennan, MLearnMgt CQU holds the responsibility for the Economic Development and Council Entrepreneurship portfolio with the Sunshine Coast Regional Council and is the Chairman of the Business and Corporate Services Committee, a position he has held for eight years.  He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and was a National Finalist in the Elected Leadership category of the Economic Development Australia Awards.

Jenny McDonald, RN, DipAppSc (NrsEd), QIT, GradDipHlthServMgt Bathurst, FCNA, is the Chief Executive Officer of Nambour Selangor and Caloundra Private Hospitals on the Sunshine Coast for Ramsay Health Care, Australia's largest private hospital group.  Her role incorporates the management and facilitation of an interdisciplinary team of professionals.
