Davina immersed in disability sector, plans a PhD

CQUniversity's Davina Taylor engages with the disability sector on a range of levels and is planning doctoral research into the experiences of workers who support people with intellectual disabilities in a residential setting.
The associate lecturer with the School of Health and Human Services has experienced working on disability-related projects involving residential care, community access, project management and positive behaviour support.
She has continued involvement in the disability sector and assists non-government service providers with quality assurance.

Davina's research interests include family inclusion and disability, deinstitutionalisation, social policy and disability, supported accommodation and the rights of people with disabilities.
She's also been focused on people with profound intellectual disabilities and their siblings and completed her Master of Arts (Research) on 'Family inclusion and people with profound intellectual disabilities: An exploration of the policy-practice interface and the experiences of adult siblings'.
These research findings were presented at the 2nd Siblings Australia National Conference at the University of Adelaide in November last year.
