Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Noosa lecturer swims for charity while barbecue buddies raise funds 

CQUniversity nursing lecturer Marc Broadbent has raised $1150 by completing the 11km Island Charity Swim on the Sunshine Coast in 3 hours and 45 minutes.

Funds raised during the August 14 event will benefit the Nambour and Currimundi special schools, which educate children with intellectual disabilities.

This was the fourth time Marc has taken on the challenge and the second time that he has swum solo for the entire length.
