Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Boats backdrop for riverside jazz 

Around 100 music fans turned out for 'Jazz at the Riverside', presented by CQUniversity and ABC Radio Capricornia in Rockhampton, on Sunday May 30.

Boats bobbed on the water as students, staff and community musicians gave a two-hour concert of classic tunes. LINK HERE for PHOTOS of students preparing for the concert

The free show featured one of Australia's leading saxophonists Graham Jesse, with the CQUni Jazz Orchestra and other jazz and contemporary music ensembles from the Bachelor of Music program.
