Teen trio ready for time in the SUN

Year 10 Geordie Williamson, Year 11 Michelle Braddon and Year 12 Ben Christmass managed to start their Functional Biology residental school at CQUniversity Rockhampton without any fanfare this week.

They were integrated into their cohort of older teens and adults without other students realising they are still at school and enrolled via the SUN (Start Uni Now) program.

"I think a few people suspected we were younger but no-one commented," Geordie said.

The high schoolers all have plenty on their plate as they embark on their tertiary studies.

Among other commitments, Geordie from Yeppoon High has been juggling school and university studies with involvement in the Fanfare music program, Ben from Biloela (who studies by distance through Riverside Christian College) been completing a scuba diving course and Michelle from St Luke's Anglican School (Bundaberg) is heavily involved in music and sport.

They are all keen to get a headstart on university-level programs, meaning they should have credit towards their degrees when they return to campus as school leavers.
