Rockhampton-based Accounting lecturer Ms Kofoed (formerly of Mackay) is rewarded for developing collaborative opportunities using cutting-edge resources in which active, motivated learners acquire authentic learning experiences within the accounting discipline.

"This award means so much to me as from an early age all I ever wanted to do was teach at university," Ms Kofoed said.  "I love my work and aspire to continually improve my teaching and learning strategies to enhance the student learning experience.

"I'd like to thank my colleagues who have influenced my practices and significantly added to my professional development during my academic career, especially Nona Muldoon for working closely with me on the redesign of one of my courses and the CDDU team for developing innovative resources to support our ground-breaking course design."  LINK to Jennifer Kofoed awarded Innovative Teacher of the Year

Sydney-based e-commerce specialist Dr Gide is being rewarded for innovative approaches to outstanding teaching, which are student-centric, are built on empowerment and enable students to go beyond requirements, achieving greater than their expectations.

Dr Gide said this award was proof that hard work, honesty and 'loving your job' were always appreciated.

"I thank CQUniversity management for nominating me and supporting me through this entire process. Thank you to all my colleagues who supported me and a big thanks to all my students for their enthusiasm in my lectures and their trust in me.

"As a result of this motivation, I will continue to do my best in every aspect to show that this award was well earned."  LINK to a feature Ergun Gide pioneers e-commerce

Professor Richard Johnstone, ALTC Executive Director, said the citations reveal the tremendous commitment in the higher education sector to improving the student experience.

"The quality and quantity of applications received represent the incredible effort made by university staff Australia-wide to contribute to a positive learning experience for every student," Professor Johnstone said.

"Recipients are drawn from a broad range of disciplines and can be found working throughout the institutions as citations recognise the work of everyone with a role in enhancing student learning."
