Writers converge on Bundaberg Campus

Around 100 writers from throughout Queensland flocked to CQUniversity Bundaberg recently for the popular WriteFest event, which also attracted editors from publishing company HarperCollins.

Organised by Bundaberg author Sandy Curtis, the event provided workshops and masterclasses and helped writers reach out to editors and publishers.

It attracted many teenage writers and aspiring authors in their early 20s and gave regional writers fresh opportunities.

Ms Curtis reported that the visiting editors were pleased with the quality of manuscripts and that the internet's influence on writing and publishing was also discussed.
